Elegant Themes are great looking themes with a vary reasonable prices. Their themes are also packed with lots of useful functionality and one of them is a great shortcode package.

Elegant themes comes with a combination of some  useful shortcodes which can make it easy for you to create pricing tables, tabbed content, shadow boxes, buttons etc.

Till now users have to use their themes in order to use these shortcodes but now they have released those shortcodes as a plugin. So if you want to use them with any other theme, you can just install that plugin and start using those shortcodes. I am using it on Makewebworld with Thesis Theme.

The plugin is part of Elegant Themes developer licence and can be downloaded from member area. If you are an existing member as of July 2012, you can get it for free from your member area.

Elegant Themes Shortcodes

The plugin provides an access to all the shortcodes available on Elegant Themes. It adds a section on your edit post screen from where you can insert your shortcodes on post and pages.

Here is a list of shortcodes available to you:

PS: Above list is an example of Custom Icon List and just took one simple shortcode to create. Some of them is a really handy codes for your business pages like pricing tables, testimonials etc.

This plugin does work with other plugins like Premise. I am using Premise for the landing pages on Makewebworld and this plugin does provide support for pricing tables and column layouts. It does make it easy to use different column layouts on your landing pages.

Check all the shortcodes in practice on this page. If you want more details on the shortcode usage than you can check the detail example page for them.

This plugin is easily worth the yearly membership price alone, but you will get an access to all the themes made by Elegant Themes, which is pretty sweet.

  1. this is actually a very useful article, I have used eleganthemes almost 4 years and I still love ET. I’ve changed 4 times themes, optimization ‘seo’ it is very helpful and really nice plugin.

    • Yes, It is easy to switch themes and have sep optimized site with Elegant Themes. Good thing is that this plugin even works with other themes also…

    I have a wordpress domain aceplantandtipperhire.com and my host is hostgator. I would like some help please with a theme that has movement. I haven’t found one as yet and the trouble I am having is entering my web name into the header. I would like to know if you would help me design a web site for wordpress in the domain that I already have.

    • I agree, with these addition it is really a great package at a very low price, I am using thesis on this site but still have the Elegant Theme membership to make it look more elegant..

    • The plugin can enhance look and feel of any theme, it is really easy to create different layout from the plugin itself and to make it more valuable, next upgrade will make it mobile responsive….

I just got an email from the administrator of Elegant Themes, and from that time I’ve been using it’s Shortcodes plugin at my own blog. That’s really rocking, working amazingly awesome. haha

  11. Nice post, however, there is a caveat….

    This plugin is only available for standard members prior to July 11 and after that on available in the developers package for 89.00

    Just wanted to clear that up.
