If you are following this blog, you would know that I recently moved my blog to a new hosting. I opted for Hostgator as my primary hosting provider and Makewebworld is running on their hosting now.
Reason for the move?
Makewebworld is now big enough to afford its own hosting. Once a blog is capable enough to fetch its own investments, I prefer to give them its own space.
Also I have big plans for the upcoming year so it is kind of a preparation work for me. I have just launched a WordPress plugin – Author Box with Custom Bio and some more work is in pipelines.
Once I decided to move a big question was which hosting provider?
There are lots of options and many service provider companies, which claim the best service. I did a lot of research and at the end, opted for Hostgator. Here are my reasons for that.
1. cPanel Support
cPanel has become standard these days. It is one of easy ways to handle your blogs and other things from a web browser. Hostgator also provides a cPanel support and their cPanel is integrated with their support system.
So you don’t need to go anywhere, you can even get a live chat support your cPanel.

2. Cloudflare Support
CDN is a big thing at this point of time, it can decrease loading time for your site. Hostgator has an integrated support for Cloudflare CDN and you can activate it from your cPanel.
Cloudflare has a free CDN plan which is good if you do not want to invest anything in the start. Support from your hosting provider is really required if you want to use these services, otherwise you will face issues in up-time of your site.
3. 99% uptime Guarantee
Many hosting provider avoid providing any kind of Uptime Guarantee but Hostgator does provide 99.9% uptime guarantee for your site.
This is one of the critical aspect in the online world, you want your site up as much time as possible and Hostgator does a good work for it. I never had any issues after moving to their server and my uptime till now is 100%.
4. AdDollor Integration and SEO Tools
Hostgator also provides an support for SEO Tools and AdDollor Integration from their cPanel. These tools are not as advance as some other paid market tools but they are good enough for free addition.
They have partnered with Attracta SEO Service with for the SEO Tools and you will get basic services for free. You can even buy paid services from your control panel itself.
If you run text in-content ads on your site, they have an integration from AdDollars, it is already installed on Hostgator servers. You just need to apply for an account activation and these ads will be running on your site.
You do not need to install any plugin or anything else for these text ads. An easy way to enhance your existing income.
5. 24/7/365 Technical Support
One of the main deciding factor is support provided by your provider, Hostgator is way ahead in this. They have 24/7/365 technical support, it is not only a telephone support but also a live chat support.
You can initiate the live chat support from your control panel itself. I wanted to move my live site to new hosting and needed some support, I just initiated a live chat and got the required help.
It is always comforting to know that you will have required support in need. Hostgator does provide that comfort.

Hostgator is okey but i am only worried about their daily increase in Prices
Lol, something which I was not aware of, I need to check how frequently they do that but if they ask some non market rate, we always have an option to move again..
You know Hostgator is changing hands, its been sold. Do you envisage that performance or stability will decrease pretty quickly…
I’ve always heard great things about them, so if they can withstand this then I’ll be moving their if my host plays up.
I do not think it should decrease or I am hoping it should not….Its more of strategic decisions and if they do note make rapid change we should be ok…
My Ultimate goal is to buy host Gator when I start earning more from my blog 🙂 they are the best everyone I know who uses them are fully satisfied 🙂
